• Raspberry Pi 5 — my always-on home server, quietly running the house in the cupboard.
• Laptop — a light machine that travels everywhere with me.

• External monitor — one big panel over two small ones.

• VS Code / Neovim — quick edits versus deep work.
• Terminal — where most of the real work happens.
• Self-hosted AI coding agent — runs against my own hardware, not someone's cloud.
• Home Assistant — the house mostly runs itself.
• Git — every change, logged.

Services

• Cloudflare — DNS, tunnels and access in front of everything.
• GitHub — code, issues and the occasional review.
• Backups — encrypted, off-site and set-and-forget.

Desk

• Standing desk — sit for meetings, stand for code.
• A good chair — the oldest and most important purchase.
• Notebook and pen — for thinking away from the screen.
• Warm light — for the evenings.
